May 5, 2015 – Shat-R-Shield Inc. has developed the world’s first high efficiency luminaire constructed of thermally conductive, engineered polymers and will showcase a Thermal Plastic LED Vapor Tight at Lightfair International 2015.
Formulated through extensive research and development, the thermally conductive, corrosion resistant material is exclusively manufactured for optimal performance of the fixtures in applications exposed to harsh environments. It can withstand prolonged exposure to highly corrosive elements such as salt spray, moisture, acids and bases without deterioration over time.
“This fixture is excellent for applications such as food processing, industrial and marine facilities where the conditions are detrimental to the light source,” states Tom Salter, VP of Marketing and Product Development. “It’s revolutionary for Shat-R-Shield. There is nothing else like it on the market.”
Further benefits of using thermal plastics for the LED Vapor Tight are its extreme light weight and versatility. At only five pounds, the small form factor allows for an easy one-person installation and a multitude of lighting layout configurations. The fixture meets DLC, UL, NSF and USDA standards and is impressively rated IP66, UL Wet Location, NEMA 4X, NEMA 5, UL 1598 and UL 1598A.
Shat-R-Shield’s Thermal Plastic LED Vapor Tight luminaire is a 100+ lumen per watt replacement for 2 or 4 lamp 4’ T8 fixtures and is available in two versions: 35W/3500 lumens/5000K and 70W/7000 lumens/5000K.
