Senior Product Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a passion for driving continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing processes. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance product performance and reliability while optimizing production efficiency. THIS IS A FULL-TIME, IN-PERSON POSITION.
Duties/Responsibilities
- *Work with Design Engineers to implement new product introductions
- *Spearhead and incorporate product improvements and efficiencies to existing product line, including line extensions
- *Respond to product customization requests from regional sales managers and develop product modifications for timely implementation
- *Update and maintain mechanical design layouts and part drawings with the use of 3D CAD software
- Source new product materials, tools and fixtures, and expand vendor base
- Source components (such as LED boards and drivers) to optimize product offerings
- *Perform various lab testing as required – UL, thermal, photometric, etc.
- Work with Production and Quality Managers to develop efficient operations and improve output with new fixtures or operations
- Work with Quality Manager to establish quality parameters for production
- *Manage product certifications including UL certifications
- *Conduct and document qualification testing and performance verification of SRS products
- *Maintain documentation and databases including manufacturing prints, materials, and processes, testing, certifications, etc..
- SRS technical resource for customer service reps
- *SRS technical resource for resolving end user electrical and installation issues or questions
- *Assist Design Engineers in development of new products, as well as new processes and testing methods

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Production Engineering, or relevant technical field
- Min. of 5 years relevant work experience
- Knowledge of LED’s, power supply electronics, lighting fixture design
- Knowledge of Basic AC/DC Electrical wiring including 120-277VAC lighting circuits and NEC code requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to be self-directed and make effective decisions
- Ability to work with others as a team member, contributor, or instructor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and 3D CAD
- Strong written and verbal communications
Preferred:
- Electrical Engineering background, most preferably LED lighting experience
- Knowledge of lumen measurement
- Knowledge of heat transfer and general thermodynamics
- Strong creativity
- SolidWorks CAD
